Virtual ACIM conference Oct. 17-19, 2014 … starts tomorrow!

Here is a list of speakers, details about the virtual conference, and a link to register for the event. The theme of this first virtual conference is “Healing the Mind through ACIM.” My presentation will be: “Lowering our shields of oblivion: Following our Inner Kindness Teacher beyond the imagined need for defenses back to the Peace of Perfect Oneness we never left.” Note that you do NOT have to attend any of these sessions live and can watch/listen to them later if you already have plans for any or all of those 3 days. Here are some quotes from the speakers, in a slide show format. I hope you can join us! This promises to be a wonderful opportunity for the global ACIM community to share insights, support and humor. 🙂

Video conversations with Susan Dugan: up next: what am I voting for?

Just before the US mid-term elections, Susan Dugan (author of ForaysInForgiveness.com and several books about ACIM) & Bruce Rawles will be sharing a timely conversation about what we’re voting for. Hint there’s always only 2 choices: ego or our Inner Kindness Teacher. Here’s another recent video conversation in our Kenneth Wapnick enthusiasts series: Susan Dugan and Bruce Rawles talk about ego backlash and not taking ourselves too seriously. Synchronistically, I’ve been enjoying the FACIM Q&A series with ‘random’ discoveries over the past few years, but just started going through all 1000+ of them in order, and discovered that Question #35 fits our conversation quite well; helpful when you find that it SEEMS to be getting more difficult to undo the ego, when, in fact, it has been a steady resistance to truth ever since the ‘tiny mad idea’ … never happened! 🙂

Level Confusion – 12Radio conversation with CA Brooks

CA Brooks and Bruce Rawles had another conversation on her excellent weekly 12Radio show about ACIM, this one on Level Confusion. In this conversation, we refer to this superb LightHouse article on the FACIM.org website by Dr. Kenneth Wapnick on the subject of Level Confusion. In the August 2014 ACIMblog bulletin, I reported on the conversation that CA Brooks and I had about a favorite and helpful ACIM subject, the double shield of oblivion. We’ve also recorded a session about metaphysical movie metaphors, particularly The Wizard of Oz; we plan to do more, since this genre is so loaded with symbolism amenable to listening to Holy Spirit’s version that leads us off the screen and back into the audience… or perhaps the projection booth. 🙂 Upcoming in Nov. 2014: a conversation about special love and special hate relationships… and going beyond specialness.

FACIM - Online Bookstore
One last day! FACIM 50% Off Book Sale Extended through September

I strongly encourage supporting the Foundation for A Course In Miracles (FACIM); they have supported us all in countless ways for many years, directly and indirectly – just think of how many students and teachers of ACIM you know that have been inspired … and continue to be inspired … by Dr. Kenneth Wapnick and his prodigious, seminal and revelatory work – who have inspired you … and others you’ve never ‘met’ – even if you never met Ken ‘in person’ (which I never had the opportunity to do, alas) or even if you’ve never been to the center in Temecula, California (which I finally had the pleasure of doing earlier this year and also recommend highly.) I just started reading (in their entirety) the nearly 1400 brilliant Q&A postings that are part of the Online Learning Aids that FACIM provides everyone for free – yet another example of FACIM’s generous service to the ACIM community world-wide. Buying books by Ken Wapnick directly from FACIM’s website is a win-win way to extend your collection of books by Ken Wapnick and/or give as gifts. FACIM just announced that – by popular demand – they are extending their generous 50% off discount on the print version of Ken’s books through the month of September 2014. Here is a direct link to the FACIM online bookstore. I just stocked up on 6 titles I didn’t have from my favorite author to extend my “Ken” collection. Enjoy!

Doug Sparks workshop in Castle Rock, Colorado – October 4, 2014

Due to a few cancellations, there are a few (4) spaces left for the Doug Sparks workshop here (at our home in Castle Rock, CO) on Saturday, October 4, 2014. His topic will be “Befriending the Unbefriended” and will be similar to the format of his other (superb!) workshops in the Boulder area from 10AM-4PM with a break for lunch, and a cost of $30. For those interested, we’ll have an optional potluck afterwards; let me know if you want to attend either or both. Please contact us ASAP to reserve a place, as this workshop is almost filled up and our living room (unlike our right mind) appears to have limited capacity. 🙂

Meanwhile, here are some prior examples of some of Doug’s superb presentations and workshops, at his home in Boulder, Colorado, at Rocky Mountain Miracle Center (RMMC) in Denver and elsewhere – reflecting his decades of studying ACIM from the early days of Ken Wapnick’s teachings. More are forthcoming after I complete a bit of editing on the audio I’ve recorded.

Please RSVP if you plan to attend (even if it’s a ‘maybe’), and I’ll keep a running list of who has reserved a spot. Also, please send a link to this page to anyone you think might be interested in attending in your ACIM contacts, including those who might know someone in the Denver area, or might be visiting here during early October, particularly those who are fans of Ken Wapnick’s teachings. THANKS!

Doug Sparks was an early student of Ken Wapnick, shortly after Ken began teaching. Doug has been sharing similarly for many years from the Boulder area. When you listen to Doug share his insights about the course, it becomes obvious that the decades of immersion in Ken’s understanding of ACIM have been extended through Doug’s crystal clarity and kind-heartedness. You won’t regret attending… your ego might have some major issues, but that’s the idea … gentle undoing of the resistance to truth! 🙂

Last month I reported on the conversation that CA Brooks and I had about a favorite and helpful ACIM subject, the double shield of oblivion. Since then, we recorded another session, this time about metaphysical movie metaphors, particularly The Wizard of Oz; we plan to do more, since this genre is so loaded with symbolism amenable to listening to Holy Spirit’s version that leads us off the screen and back into the audience… or perhaps the projection booth. 🙂 Next Friday, we’ll have another conversation (which I’ll upload to ACIMblog soon) that will touch on another favorite helpful subject: Level Confusion. Here’s an article by Ken Wapnick on the subject of Level Confusion I’m sure to draw inspiration from.

Kindle edition of The Geometry Code turned 2 yesterday

Amazing that it’s already been a couple of years since I released the Kindle edition of the book: The Geometry Code:
Universal Symbolic Mirrors of Natural Laws Within Us; Friendly Reminders of Inclusion to Forgive the Dreamer of Separation … You can read more about this metaphysical romp here, and download the first chapter for free here. The ‘tree-ware’ version has been around even longer for those that enjoy a ‘real book’ to curl up with. 🙂

KenWapnick - arm embrace

Kenneth Wapnick article by Bernard Groom

Thanks to Susan Dugan – BTW, here’s a recent interview Susan did with C. A. Brooks and more of her audios – for alerting me in a recent blog post to this excellent article by Bernard Groom about Ken Wapnick’s life and keeping the teaching that he demonstrated in our awareness. Here’s a short excerpt: “Reality, Heaven, Home is real. Nothing else is. That is where we are, all of us, all the time, in a state we cannot comprehend within the limited, intellectual mind. We cannot ‘think’ through this one. This state ‘here’ that appears outside that perfect place is not true, and not real. Yet we have adopted this extraordinary capacity to make real (seemingly real) what is not real. The power of our minds is such that we can insist on the truth of this separated state, a place of beginnings and endings, to such an extent that we experience it as ‘real’. We have to call this into question.”

Kenneth Wapnick interview with Amy Torres

Here’s a “new” interview with Ken Wapnick by Amy Torres (from October 2000), which shows the consistency and constancy of his message, and addresses issues such as purification, the happy dream and Jung’s two stages of life.

ACIM Digital Editions

The Foundation for Inner Peace recently announced new audio versions of ACIM on a 5-CD set in mp3 formatmore info on digital versions this page.

Doug Sparks and Lyn Corona classes at Rocky Mountain Miracle Center (RMMC)

Doug Sparks is presenting two classes tomorrow at RMMC (2Mar2014): “Make this year different…” at the 11AM gathering, followed by a Workshop from 1- 4 pm entitled: “We have met the enemy and he is us.” – Pogo

Lyn Corona (of the School of Reason) is starting new classes at RMMC: Essential Metaphysics (Three Sat. afternoon classes March 29; April 5, 12, from 2 to 4 pm, with a free intro session March 22, 2 to 3:30 pm) and Living The Course, part II (Eight 2-hour classes Thursdays- March 20, 27; April 3, 10, 17, 24, May 1, 8 from 7 to 9 pm); … all highly recommended!

The End of Death

I just got a copy of “The End of Death” by Nouk Sanchez. There’s a sample chapter and other supplemental materials here. I’ll post a review here soon; eager to read it! 🙂

My projections are my inner workshop for forgiveness

Here’s a short video by Corrine Zupko about trusting our Inner Kindness Teacher and seeing our projections as our internal work, not something outside ourselves.

Lasting Happiness

Here’s a short article by fellow ACIM student and hiker Jim Meissner. Here’s a short excerpt: “To have lasting joy and inner peace you must choose them as your goal and priority. So whatever the situation, you decide in advance to have peace as your goal. Since you have set your goal, you will find the means to achieve it. Just don’t make other goals more important to you or you will have divided and conflicting goals. Without setting your ultimate goal in advance, life will just seem to happen to you and you will seem to be a helpless victim of outside circumstances. That need not be.”

ACIMblog bulletin for September 2012:

Upcoming Interviews / Webcasts / Videos / Meetings / Conferences / Presentations

Class: Universal Symbolic Mirrors of Natural Laws: Denver, CO Nov 5, 2012

On Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, from 7-9PM (Mountain Time) I’ll be giving an evening multimedia class/presentation: “Universal Symbolic Mirrors of Natural Laws Within Us; Friendly Reminders of Inclusion to Forgive the Dreamer of Separation” at Shining Lotus Metaphysical Bookstore, 2178 S. Colorado Blvd., Denver, CO 80222 I will share LOTS of visual multimedia imagery, animation and more, along with plenty of theory on the mystical underpinnings of sacred geometry, the seven ancient Hermetic laws of truth, take-home lessons from modern physics, and how the non-dual metaphysics of inclusion, kindness and forgiving our self-judgments is key to sustainable happiness (a.k.a. non-dual metaphysics)! 🙂 There will be a book-signing after the class; both of my books, Sacred Geometry Design Sourcebook and The Geometry Code, are available from Shining Lotus Metaphysical Bookstore. Space is limited to 20 participants, so please contact me ASAP if you’re interested and want to pre-register.

Miracles In The Mountains Conference: Cañon City, CO Oct 12-14, 2012

In October, I’ll be attending – and very much looking forward it! – the Miracles In The Mountains (MITM) Conference; I hope to see you there! Here’s a bit of fun I had ‘PhotoShopping’ a few ‘bobbleheads’ of some of the featured contributors … on the ‘road to the abbey’ 🙂
Road To The Abbey
Dear friend and fellow ACIM enthusiast (and scholar of Gary Renard’s work), ‘Giddyup Mikey’ Mike Lemieux – author of “Dude, Where’s My Jesus Fish?: A Compilation Highlighting the Blunt and Uncompromising Teachings of Arten and Pursah on A Course in Miracles”, will be carpooling with me to the event, so that will add an extra dimension of fun.

ACIM and Inception article

In August 2010, right after the movie Inception was released, I was immediately impressed with the symbolism and references to “ACIM concepts” and wrote this article: Inception and Forgiving the Dream We Made Up. I’ve seen the movie Inception at least 5 times now, most recently on the Inception DVD (which has some excellent documentary ‘bonus’ material), and more of the symbolism is evident with each viewing. Like many popular films, while not always offering the ‘solution’ to the tiny mad idea (the belief in separation), it does a superb job of detailing the insane logic of the ego’s thought system and the mechanisms by which we have chosen to deepen our dream identifications. We can use the “George Costanza” opposite method (grin) to use these insights to see our ego’s sabotage in action and undo it by applying the opposite thought system (to reach our true identity which is beyond opposites. 🙂 On Aug. 28, 2012, Kenneth Bok of ACIMexplained (who has a superb YouTube series on ACIM including an interview with me) sent me a link to an outstanding article by Michael Murray (which Kenneth helped with) on the movie Inception’s ACIM connections, and I was inspired to add a few more thoughts to complement this very insightful article. I’ve provided references to the video clips and paragraphs in the article by Murray and Bok, in case you want to refer to both at the same time. You can read the rest here…

New ACIMexplained.com ‘Google Hangouts’ / interviews with Kenneth Bok

Last weekend (8Sep2012) I had the pleasure of participating in one of Kenneth Bok’s new (google hangout) format (with multiple live videos) and Skype interviews on his superb YouTube channel about ACIM. This example (with the new format) is an ACIM Hangout with Nouk Sanchez and Carrie Triffet.
Tomorrow’s (15Sep2012) multi-participant video ‘google hangout’ with Ken will be an ACIM Hangout with Pauline Edward. It should be on Ken’s YouTube channel about ACIM shortly after that if you’re unable to join in live.

Doug Sparks classes in Boulder, CO starting Oct 2012, and recent audio online

On Sunday, August 26, 2012, Doug Sparks gave another free talk “A Garden Epiphany” and an afternoon workshop 1-4 PM “A Dream of Trees” at The Rocky Mountain Miracle Center in Denver, Colorado. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed 2 other presentations that Doug gave there; he is a long time student of Kenneth Wapnick and an excellent, kind-hearted teacher. Here is a syllabus of new classes by Doug Sparks in Boulder, Colorado starting Oct. 2012 with a link to the audio from “A Garden Ephipany”.

Wed. ACIM/DU online study group now a Google+ Hangout

For almost a year, I’ve been ‘skype-ing in’ to the Wed. evening ACIM/DU study group I started in southern Oregon (thanks to Dan & Terry Miller!) and now we have regular attendees from 3 states. It’s a joy to be able to continue the friendship and deepening of understanding and sharing about our revelations about our practice of forgiveness, kindness and non-dual amusement/amazement. 🙂 So, I’m further enthused about the prospects of extending that capability among different groups around the planet. We get to play ‘pioneers’ in rediscovering how to reflect the connection, wholeness and sameness we never left. 🙂 Since we also just switched to the google+ hangout format, let us know if you’d like to join in these always-fun conversations. These video connections are a great complement to the audio-only programs such as ACIM Gather, which Dov Fishman does a great job hosting. Details about my weekly Friday program (amid the enjoyable 24/7 line up) are below.

A Conversation with Ken Wapnick: Just don’t justify it!

Thanks to Sally McKirgan for alerting me to a new A Conversation with Ken Wapnick: Just don’t justify it! an interview of Kenneth Wapnick by Susan Dugan.

JC lesson – article by Dan Rosey

Here’s a new article titled JC lesson by Dan Rosey on his ACIM+NLP+Chakras website. It begins with “THERE IS NO DEATH; let that sink in a minute, is that not good news? Your body will perish, get eaten by worms, but not YOU. You are eternal.” Dan usually joins us on Wed. evenings via skype (now google+ hangout) on our weekly multi-state study group from 7-9PM Pacific Time.

Recent Radio/Webcast Interviews/Podcasts/Videos

I’ve been updating the GeometryCode Events page with upcoming, ongoing, and past radio and internet interviews, presentations, and more. (The majority of the content I share in these events is about non-dual metaphysics, and becoming ever more so.)

Among the recent past interviews I’ve participated in (with free audio archives online that you can listen to) are:

… and many more on the Events page.
I always enjoy talking about the non-dual Metaphysics, Psychology, Symbolism, Philosophy and more contained within the book “The Geometry Code: Universal Symbolic Mirrors of Natural Laws Within Us; Friendly Reminders of Inclusion to Forgive the Dreamer of Separation” which is available here.

ACIM Gather program continues on Friday afternoons

My ACIM Gather program (formerly on Tuesday evenings) is now on Friday afternoons. After reading Kenneth Wapnick’s brilliant Journey Through The Workbook of ACIM some months ago, I recently started reading his similarly outstanding Journey Through The Manual (JTTM) of ACIM. I have also recently started sharing some brief quotes (mostly from my daily reading of this book) on my frequent FaceBook status updates and recent tweets on Twitter. You can see a few of the most recent tweets in the right-hand sidebar on each page of this site. I’ve shared online on ACIM Gather for several weeks now (with super support from Dov Fishman)… It’s lots of fun. Please join in the conversation when you can on Fridays from 1:30-2 PM Mountain Time. To listen to ACIM Gather on Paltalk Express (and optionally participate interactively), create a free Paltalk Express account, then login, search for ACIM Gather, and listen to (and chat via your keyboard with if you’re interested) ACIM-related hosts 24/7. Here is the weekly ACIM Gather schedule. You can also listen to the ACIM Gather programming (LOTS of great ACIM programming 24/7!) here.

New ACIM studies book available

The new book: The Geometry Code: Universal Symbolic Mirrors of Natural Laws Within Us; Friendly Reminders of Inclusion to Forgive the Dreamer of Separation by Bruce Rawles (with a Foreward by Gary Renard) became available on Tuesday June 5th.
Don’t let the word “Geometry” in the title scare you off! While there is a backdrop of geometric symbols in this book, they are used merely to provide outside pictorial reminders of the inward condition of choosing our shared Teacher of Kindness… or, as is often the case, gently nudge us to let go of our own hopeless yet silly dualistic notions, fantasies, special attachments and aversions. The book also draws on the ancient Hermetic Laws, which again, are used solely for the purpose of memory aids to bring to the Inclusive Spirit within to show us how our personal interpretations are never going to work, but those brought to the eternal Truth of the Being we all have in common will always restore our minds to wholeness and peace.
Learn more about the book here…

The Ego-Self: Made Through Projection

Let us begin by asking ourselves the questions, “Who am I?” and “How do I define myself?” How do we define who we are? Is it by our primary role, such as parent, CEO, spiritual teacher, artist, or student? Or do we define ourselves by our values, accomplishments, beliefs, personality, past experiences, childhood, body, (age, gender, size and shape, color, state of health), nationality, or perhaps our hopes, dreams, mistakes, regrets, grievances, and fears?

Most of us mistakenly confuse our meaning and identity with one or many of the above categories. We are obsessed with two ideas: getting what we want or think we need but don’t have (for example, material possessions, relationships, people, money, or happiness); and becoming what we want to be but have not yet become (for example, happy, peaceful, loving, healthy, wealthy, famous, successful with a good career or status, or a good parent). The truth is that none of these things define who we are now, and none of them could possibly be used to define who we will become at any moment in the future.

Before we dare think that we could ever be truly happy in this lifetime, we need to discover who we are not. Once we realize that we’ve always been mistaken in how we looked at ourselves, we are released to awaken to who we really are and receive the limitless gifts that come with this knowing.

We have been led to believe that we are separate, independent human beings. Yet, to accept as true any of the labels that, we claim, have defined our identity results in our being codependent and severely limited. All that these definitions do for us is reinforce our limitations. The very fact that we depend so heavily on them for our sense of self reveals just how unaware we are of our own dependency on external conditions to make or break who we think we are.

This means we do not know who we really are; we do not know our true purpose, and we do not know what will truly make us happy. So, how could we possibly be free from suffering and experience joy in our lives?

It is a dangerous misperception to accept as true the widely held beliefs that (1) happiness depends on external conditions and (2) we are not totally responsible for ourselves and the life we create. Both of these ideas lead to the belief that we are helpless victims, that is, at the mercy of others as well as random chaos.

And both of these beliefs are to be re-evaluated and transformed before we can know who we truly are and begin a new life filled with purpose and meaning. Recognizing just where we have misplaced our identity and meaning shows us also where we have invested our trust. Whatever we value mentally and emotionally is where we place our trust in life. For most of us, that trust has been placed anywhere and everywhere except where it belongs: with our one “Unified Self,” the self we were created to be.

To get to know the Unified Self, we must first identify the source of the distorted and misguided thought system responsible for all the pain and suffering, disillusionment and disappointment in the world. Next we must step back and objectively give it a thorough examination of its purpose and modus operandi.

Just looking at the ego’s sacred herd

This is a re-post of a post by Seth Duncan and my reply from a snippet of the conversation on “True Love and Forgiveness” on FaceBook from today.

Seth Duncan:

The topic of sex is extremely taboo in the world and even with a course in miracles students… At course groups topics like guilt and fear, peace and love and miracles are discussed but not very often is sex brought up. There’s so much shame and guilt covering sex that people don’t want to look at it. I’ve been uncovering this sex-drive for a while now and it’s been quite liberating to get to core of it… If anyone would like to comment or ask questions about it I would be happy to respond. 🙂

Bruce Rawles:

Thanks, Seth, this post is perfectly juxtaposed with the wonderful YouTube interview with Kenneth Bok and Nouk Sanchez where more ‘sacred-to-the-ego cows’ are revealed. How appropriate in this dream season of death, taxes and rebirth-into-form that we examine what the fragmented self hates to look at… I’m reminded of Ken Wapnick’s superb audio, “Form vs. Content: Sex and Money” where he points out that these taboo subjects are just poster children of the tantrum yoga that the teacher of fear promotes and glamorizes, wanting to make some subjects special and particularly off-limits to pulling back Oz’s curtain. And Gary Renard’s teachers are equally non-word-mincing on the subject, reminding us that sex, in particular, has just enough ‘payoff’ to maintain the mindless addiction to avoiding looking at the underlying authority problem where we seem to be able – for a few moments – find a substitute for an all-encompassing love that we know would bring us home in a nanosecond if we really looked at it wholly with the Spirit we all are. These ‘special’ topics where the world seems ‘more equal than others’ as Orwell might say, often can be particularly helpful when given to the Teacher of Kindness for reinterpretation so that we don’t make ‘big deals’ out of any particulars. 🙂

Oh yeah, and just looking (with Holy Spirit) does not necessarily imply that we change anything on the level of form, which is so often the knee (or other anatomical region) jerk reaction to being upset with our own projections that just need our forgiveness; and seeing the humor in our own folly around these sacred herds can be so entertaining! 🙂ACIMblog star image

(Tomas Vieira’s) Spirit IS

photo of Nouk Sanchez and Tomas Vieira; Take Me To Truth book cover

In the normal reckoning of space and time, I ‘met’ Thomas Vieira less than 2 years ago in San Francisco at a conference on A Course In Miracles. He and his former wife and teaching/learning partner, Nouk Sanchez, were giving a 75-minute workshop on their ACIM experiences and revelations. I immediately felt connected to both, like long-lost friends, as they engaged with everyone in the room, reminding us that we’re ALL long-lost friends. I can’t think of anyone I’ve talked to that didn’t have a similar experience. Starting with the whoopee cushions they placed on everyone’s seats, it was obvious that their sense of humor was of primary importance in their assigned task (while gently and whimsically reminding us it was OUR task as well) to dismantle the inner saboteur we thought we fabricated called ego.

Numerous metaphors that Tomas (and Nouk) shared stayed with me; for starters, how our inner voice for peace (a.k.a. Holy Spirit) is like a GPS; when we get off course, it doesn’t berate us for missing the optimal turn, it just gently recalculates another optimum way to see our ‘destination’ each moment without any implied guilt, blame or extra baggage. Probably my favorite analogy (that Tomas illustrated with great exuberance so that we could all identify with it, just long enough to see the joke and start DE-identifying with it 🙂 is the ego as the quintessential pork-pie-hat-wearing and cigar-smoking used car salesman… To paraphrase: “I’ve never steered you right before, but never mind that, just trust me this one … more … time.” What a great image! I remember laughing with Tomas at one of our favorite local restaurants (after they gave an outstanding 3-day workshop here a little over a year ago) talking about what a great video this could make to satirize our attachment to form…

… and Tomas really LIVED the lessons about releasing his interpretations about form, including his own deteriorating body. His attitude demonstrated the truly liberating truth that we’re not bound by anything, including the fleeting vehicles we ‘hang out in’. If ‘gentle tenacity’ isn’t too much of an oxymoron, Tomas showed us, in so many loving and kind examples, how we can make fun of our own follies and enjoy the lives we think we’re living all the more so by holding to the thought system that reminds us that separation never happened… and we can afford to enjoy an internal (and eternal) inner laugh about how silly our preoccupations are – no matter how seemingly serious. The candor that Tomas and Nouk shared about their personal lives that reminded us of our shared transpersonal LIFE was, IS and forever will be a joyous example of spirit.

If our shared spirit (way beyond what our little who-ville, persona-attached, need machine-obsessed minds could possibly fathom) IS eternally, then that same spirit we all share (and the idea we call Tomas was such a great fun reminder of) IS too, so thank you, Tomas, for a life in this holographic dream well spent in sharing what we all are, what we have always been and will always be (beyond time, space and all the other silly notions we seem to get caught up in.)

Will we miss Tomas’ form? Of course. But even as a few tears arise as we recall our dear friend, the sustainable smile breaks into outrageously joyous laughter remembering that (like the Joe Hill song lyrics go) “He did not die.”

Eternal smilezenhugs! 🙂
