Recovering Bliss-ninny calendar – newly updated for 2016!

Calling all Recovering Bliss-Ninnies! Here is a newly updated (2016) calendar for students of A Course In Miracles (ACIM) that want reminders of the thought system we’re here to undo, featuring a few of the more challenging quotes from ACIM with recent photographs by Bruce Rawles, editor of ACIMblog.com. Kenneth Wapnick said: “A bliss-ninny doesn’t want to look at guilt or what the world is really like. A person will say, oh, the Course is changing my life, it’s going to change the world without really looking at the guilt the Course is trying to undo. A bliss-ninny does not have a proper understanding or respect for the ego in terms of how ugly it can be and how attracted to it we are. If you don’t look at guilt, everything you do with this Course is going to be guided by that decision and you will totally misunderstand what the Course is saying.” The quote was from Susan Dugan’s excellent interview with Ken, which you can read here. While most students of ACIM probably aren’t in the ‘clinically pathological bliss-ninny’ category (grin) we all have our favorite idols of specialness in the world that we think will make us happy. So, even if you only have a few residual ‘special projects’ to repair this surreal holodeck with the intent of turning the dream into your bliss factory, you might find the quotes on the calendar helpful. If you stand back far enough, you can always just look at the photos when the resistance is high to letting the meaning of the quotes sink in directly, letting them work subliminally. 🙂

Here are the quotes from the Recovering Bliss-ninny calendar:

“The world you see is a delusional system of those made mad by guilt. Look carefully at this world, and you will realize that this is so.”
– T-13.in.2:2-3

January

“I am responsible for what I see. I choose the feelings I experience, and I decide upon the goal I would achieve. And everything that seems to happen to me I ask for, and receive as I have asked.” – T-21.II.2:3-5

February

“You are still convinced that your understanding is a powerful contribution to the truth, and makes it what it is.” – T-18.IV.7:5

March

“You will become increasingly aware that a slight twinge of annoyance is nothing but a veil drawn over intense fury.” – W-pI.21.5

April

“Beware of the temptation to perceive yourself unfairly treated. In this view, you seek to find an innocence that is not Theirs but yours alone, and at the cost of someone else’s guilt. Can innocence be purchased by the giving of your guilt to someone else?” – T-26.X.4:1-3

May

“Learn now, without despair, there is no hope of answer in the world. But do not judge the lesson that is but begun with this. Seek not another signpost in the world that seems to point to still another road. No longer look for hope where there is none.” – T-31.IV.4.3

June

“The ego is also in your mind, because you have accepted it there. Its evaluation of you, however, is the exact opposite of the Holy Spirit’s, because the ego does not love you. It is unaware of what you are, and wholly mistrustful of everything it perceives because its perceptions are so shifting. The ego is therefore capable of suspiciousness at best and viciousness at worst.” – T-9.VII.3:4-7

July

“Learn this, and learn it well, for it is here delay of happiness is shortened by a span of time you cannot realize. You never hate your brother for his sins, but only for your own. Whatever form his sins appear to take, it but obscures the fact that you believe them to be yours, and therefore meriting a ‘just’ attack.” – T-31.III.1:4-6

August

“But it is pride that argues you have come into a world quite separate from yourself, impervious to what you think, and quite apart from what you chance to think it is. There is no world! This is the central thought the course attempts to teach.” – W-pI.132.6

September

“What is not love is murder. What is not loving must be an attack. Every illusion is an assault on truth, and every one does violence to the idea of love because it seems to be of equal truth.” – T-23.IV.1:10

October

“If you perceived the special relationship as a triumph over God, would you want it? Let us not think of its fearful nature, nor of the guilt it must entail, nor of the sadness and the loneliness. For these are only attributes of the whole religion of separation, and of the total context in which it is thought to occur.” – T-16.V.10

November

“The sick are merciless to everyone, and in contagion do they seek to kill. Death seems an easy price, if they can say, ‘Behold me, brother, at your hand I die.’ For sickness is the witness to his guilt, and death would prove his errors must be sins.” – T-27.I.4:3-7

December

“If you can be hurt by anything, you see a picture of your secret wishes. Nothing more than this. And in your suffering of any kind you see your own concealed desire to kill.” – T-31.V.15:8-10

Here is an explanation of the annotated references that are noted at the end of each quote.

Journey Through the Text available now

Hooray! The long-awaited “Journey Through the Text of A Course In Miracles” (JTTT) by Kenneth Wapnick is now available through the FACIM.org website. I’ve been reading excerpts posted on FaceBook by fellow students that already have copies and look forward to reading it!

Dana Carvey - Well Isn't That Special
Well, isn’t that special! Specialness – 12Radio conversation with CA Brooks

CA Brooks and Bruce Rawles had another conversation on her excellent weekly 12Radio show about ACIM, this one on Specialness. In this conversation, we talk about special love, special hate, and how we make everything special! This ubiquitous ego tactic is designed to keep us mindlessly fixated on specific idols of all kinds. We refer to quotes such as “Complete abstraction is the natural condition of the mind” from Lesson 161 of the ACIM WorkBook, and how specifics … and specialness are intentional diversions from restoring our minds to this peaceful state which is our true nature. Specialness is an important theme in A Course In Miracles; here are numerous articles about it on the Foundation for A Course In Miracles website.

Here is a list of speakers, details about the virtual conference, and a link to register for the event. The theme of this first virtual conference is “Healing the Mind through ACIM.” My presentation was: “Lowering our shields of oblivion: Following our Inner Kindness Teacher beyond the imagined need for defenses back to the Peace of Perfect Oneness we never left.” Here are some quotes from the speakers, in a slide show format. I hope you can join us; the material is always applicable! This was a wonderful opportunity for the global ACIM community to share insights, support and humor. I had the pleasure of watching all the presentations/interviews and listening to all the Q&A sessions, and enjoyed them all; I plan to re-watch and re-listen to them all again soon. 🙂

Video conversations with Susan Dugan: What am I voting for?

Susan Dugan (author of ForaysInForgiveness.com and several books about ACIM) & Bruce Rawles shared a conversation about what we’re voting for with every thought. Hint: there’s always only 2 choices: ego or our Inner Kindness Teacher. Here’s another recent video conversation in our Kenneth Wapnick enthusiasts series: Susan Dugan and Bruce Rawles talk about ego backlash and not taking ourselves too seriously. Synchronistically, I’ve been enjoying the FACIM Q&A series with ‘random’ discoveries over the past few years, but just started going through all 1000+ of them in order, and discovered that Question #35 fits our conversation quite well; helpful when you find that it SEEMS to be getting more difficult to undo the ego, when, in fact, it has been a steady resistance to truth ever since the ‘tiny mad idea’ … never happened! 🙂

Upcoming Interviews / Webcasts / Videos / Meetings / Conferences / Presentations/ Classes / Resources

  • CA Brooks interview about special love and special hate relationships (see details above)
  • Susan Dugan and Bruce Rawles reflect on the election … and other spooky subjects that remind us we vote 24/7/365 (see details above)
  • Recovering Bliss-Ninny calendar for 2015 (see details above)

June 2013 ACIMblog bulletin

ACIMblog bulletin for June 2013:

High Above The Thorny Roads of Fear – Ken Wapnick article in the latest Lighthouse

Kenneth Wapnick consistently shares superb, concentrated insights at the heart of ACIM’s pure non-dual metaphysics, always with kindness, humor and insight. This most recent edition of the Foundation for A Course In Miracles (FACIM)‘s quarterly newsletter publication, The Lighthouse, with an article entitled “High Above The Thorny Roads of Fear” is no exception. Here’s a short excerpt from the excellent article (highly recommended):

“The miracle does not ask us to choose between the two—body or mind identification—but only to recognize that this is our choice: the well-traveled road of bodies that are doomed to suffer pain and loss, and then die (T-31.VI.2:3), or the less-traveled, mind-centered road Jesus leads us on that will carry us home on peaceful wings of love. We cannot take both paths.”

Forgiveness Offers Everything I Want: New ACIM studies book

FOEIW-cover-403wEOFbg

Forgiveness Offers Everything I Want is the title of a video conversation with Susan Dugan and Bruce Rawles … and also the title of Susan’s outstanding new book (Forgiveness Offers Everything I Want; which is available in both paperback and Kindle versions). The book (which continues in the same humorous and lucid writing style as her prior – equally engaging – book, Extraordinary Ordinary Forgiveness) uses examples from her personal mindful forgiveness training as the springboard to look at how we can be happily wrong about our narrow, victim-centric and grievance-based interpretations and judgments and learn to generalize these life lessons we all share.

The Essential Metaphysics of A Course in Miracles – Denver, CO class series by Lyn Corona

I will soon upload the remaining three audios of Lyn Corona’s recent class at the Rocky Mountain Miracle Center in Denver entitled “The Essential Metaphysics of A Course in Miracles which concludes June 30, 2013. Here’s the audio recording from the first session, along with several other related audio recordings of Lyn. Lyn talked about an early mystical experience which led to a lifetime of spiritual inquiry, finding ACIM in the mid 1970’s and much more. These include several newer audio recordings by Lyn Corona from ACIM Gather on Paltalk Express. To listen and/or participate live on these audio sessions, visit the ACIMblog Resources page for more details. Lyn has a weekly program on ACIM Gather Tuesdays from 7-8PM Eastern Time. Here’s the programming schedule. Lyn’s websites – both recommended! – are  Becoming Learners Together and School of Reason. Here’s another recent video interview/conversation with Lyn Corona (via Google+ Hangouts).

Grateful for another year of your Support – ‘one year anniversary’ of The Geometry Code book

A year ago (on June 5, 2013), I launched the paperback version of The Geometry Code: Universal Symbolic Mirrors of Natural Laws Within Us; Friendly Reminders of Inclusion to Forgive the Dreamer of Separation. The Kindle version of the paperback book followed a few months later last fall. While certainly not exclusively an “ACIM studies” book, ACIM was definitely a primary inspiration, and the addition of the backdrop of the seven ancient Hermetic Laws, a smattering of mystical geometry and even some dabbling in modern physics and it’s inexorable transformation in our mind to metaphysics. Thanks to one and all for your generous and continued support of the two versions from multiple countries, and to Gary Renard for the Foreward, and countless others for inspiration! I’ve had a number of kind reviews and endorsements. If you’d like to add yours, please send my way, and/or post on the Amazon review page here. You can find a free first chapter of the book (entitled “The Question of Identity: Two Thought Systems”) here.

June 2012 ACIMblog bulletin

New ACIM studies book available TODAY!!!

The new book: The Geometry Code: Universal Symbolic Mirrors of Natural Laws Within Us; Friendly Reminders of Inclusion to Forgive the Dreamer of Separation by Bruce Rawles (with a Foreward by Gary Renard) became available on Tuesday June 5th.

Don’t let the word “Geometry” in the title scare you off! While there is a backdrop of geometric symbols in this book, they are used merely to provide outside pictorial reminders of the inward condition of choosing our shared Teacher of Kindness… or, as is often the case, gently nudge us to let go of our own hopeless yet silly dualistic notions, fantasies, special attachments and aversions. The book also draws on the ancient Hermetic Laws, which again, are used solely for the purpose of memory aids to bring to the Inclusive Spirit within to show us how our personal interpretations are never going to work, but those brought to the eternal Truth of the Being we all have in common will always restore our minds to wholeness and peace.

“Bruce has done a remarkable job of sharing how – by developing trust in the Inner Guide we all have in common – we can include the symbolic contents of our unconscious mind in very familiar forms, such as geometric ones. … This work is a fun and useful addition to the list of ACIM studies books. Enjoy, and awaken.”
Gary R. Renard, best-selling author of The Disappearance of the Universe

ACIM Gather program continues on Friday afternoons

My ACIM Gather program (formerly on Tuesday evenings) is now on Friday afternoons. After reading Kenneth Wapnick’s brilliant Journey Through The Workbook of ACIM some months ago, I recently started reading his similarly outstanding Journey Through The Manual (JTTM) of ACIM. I have also recently started sharing some brief quotes (mostly from my daily reading of this book) on my frequent FaceBook status updates and recent tweets on Twitter. You can see a few of the most recent tweets in the right-hand sidebar on each page of this site. I’ve shared online on ACIM Gather for several weeks now (with super support from Dov Fishman)… It’s lots of fun. Please join in the conversation when you can on Fridays from 1:30-2 PM Mountain Time. To listen to ACIM Gather on Paltalk Express (and optionally participate interactively), create a free Paltalk Express account, then login, search for ACIM Gather, and listen to (and chat via your keyboard with if you’re interested) ACIM-related hosts 24/7. Here is the weekly ACIM Gather schedule. You can also listen to the ACIM Gather programming (LOTS of great ACIM programming 24/7!) here.

ACIM Explained YouTube series with Kenneth Bok

Check out Kenneth Bok’s engaging online show (ACIM Explained) where he interviews ACIM luminaries, authors and does a wonderful job of sharing both the content and supporting info… There are even more interviews to enjoy since I mentioned his series about ACIM last month. 🙂

Jennifer Hadley ACIM interviews for 2012

… speaking of online interviews, you might also enjoy Jennifer Hadley‘s new 8 week series of interviews (following a great lineup last year as well). Here’s a link to her replays (available for 48 hours after each session.) The most recent (31 May) was an interview with Gary Renard.

Gary R. Renard, best-selling author of The Disappearance of the Universe

The Geometry Code: Universal Symbolic Mirrors of Natural Laws Within Us; Friendly Reminders of Inclusion to Forgive the Dreamer of Separation by Bruce Rawles (front cover)

An Inclusive Identity transforms our experience from separate to whole. Our inner teacher of kindness reinterprets every day events in ways that lead us to freedom. Observing our minds with this guidance, we apply universal laws to our individual lives, using geometric metaphors as memory aids, releasing the identification with unconscious victim scripts that sabotage our happiness. This book integrates practical insights from modern physics, ancient Hermetic Laws, non-dual metaphysics, transpersonal psychology – and humor – as tools for undoing conflicting beliefs we’ve dreamed ourselves into. Symbols remind us to forgive the dreamer.

We explore seven laws in-depth and demonstrate how a mindfulness that embraces ‘other’ as ‘self’ can reverse the typical misapplication of these inescapable laws of Mentalism, Correspondence, Vibration, Polarity, Rhythm, Cause & Effect and Generation. Ubiquitous geometric symbols, paired to each of these laws – the circle, vesica piscis, sine wave, line, spiral, fractal and yin-yang – and their countless commonplace variations, seen from the vantage point of shared interests, reflect these ideas. The inspired use of natural law restores attributes of life, love, strength, purity, beauty, perfection and gratitude to our awareness. Our intentions of loving kindness make use of these memory aids for returning our minds to wholeness as we forgive ourselves, using dreams to heal instead of harm.

The Geometry Code: Universal Symbolic Mirrors of Natural Laws Within Us; Friendly Reminders of Inclusion to Forgive the Dreamer of Separation by Bruce Rawles (author of Sacred Geometry Design Sourcebook) will be available here on Tuesday June 5, 2012!

Click here and we will email details about ordering The Geometry Code book.

UPDATE 28Sep2012: You can order the paperback version of The Geometry Code book here. The new (today!) Kindle version of The Geometry Code is now available here. Enjoy! 🙂

“The Geometry Code elegantly approaches the underlying assumptions of the belief in separation – the treasured wounds we won’t forgive which prevent healing – from the context of Oneness. Using ancient and modern mirrors, such as universal laws and sacred geometry, it reveals our true shared selves. I’m impressed with the depth and breadth of this book; it’s really profound. Thank you for bringing it into being.”
Leonard Laskow, MD; author of Healing With Love

The Disappearance of the Universe by Gary R. Renard; Paperback

Two remarkable teachers came into Gary Renard’s life in 1992, he chose to listen to them carefully. (And ask a lot of questions.) The result is this startling book: An extraordinary record of 17 mind-bending conversations that took place over nearly a decade, reorienting the author’s life, and giving the world an uncompromising introduction to a spiritual teaching destined to change human history.

Your Immortal Reality by Gary R. Renard

In this fascinating book, Gary Renard and his Ascended Master Teachers, Arten and Pursah, teach you how to integrate advanced spiritual principles into your everyday life. Doing so leads beyond theory to an experience of the Divine and the undoing of the ego. Your progress will be accelerated to such a degree that, with continued practice, you can’t help but stop the need to reincarnate . . . once and for all.

Happy or Right : T-shirts

Would you rather be right or happy? – ACIM (T29.VII.1:9)

I’ve found this slogan over the years* to be an invaluable guide to choosing the guidance of our Universal Inspiration instead of the “used car salesman” (love that metaphor from Tomas Vieira! 🙂 of our personal, separate, and oh-so-unfulfilling special interests. Wearing one of these, every time you see a mirror (which is everyone and everything :-), it can be a reminder to ‘choose once again’ … for our happiness! Enjoy!

* – I’m particularly grateful to my partner who helped me avert an unpleasant life detour years ago, when, by being sensitive and alert to what we were both feeling, but I wasn’t admitting at that time, she reminded me of this lovely quote from ACIM. At the time, my ego was ‘bent’ on proving a particular issue with an ‘outside agency’, and her gentle reminder (as an agent/avatar of HS inspiration) helped remind me what our real, shared priority was, and is … the peaceful feeling of following and trusing our Eternal Source!

In case you are inspired to adorn your ‘dream hero action figure’ with one of these, here’s a sample shirt:

JAFO (Just Another Forgiveness Opportunity) T -Shirt

JAFO

Hi all: I thought this “JAFO” shirt might help remind me not to take the illusion of our increasingly surreal 3D world too seriously… more posts to follow; thought I’d start out on a whimsical note! 🙂 The quote is from Gary Renard, author of Disappearance of the Universe and Your Immortal Reality.

Here’s a couple examples of t-shirts with the JAFO reminder that everything our senses, space, time, bodies and our personal identities show is … Just … Another … Forgiveness … Opportunity 🙂

Perfect "T" for your little ACIM baby!

A great reminder "T" for all sizes!
