FACIM FAQ 1135: Trusting the One with Universal Credentials

Lyn Johnson

Workshop: Navigating the Dream with Forgiveness: Our Inner Kindness Teacher’s Dashboard – Sunday August 9, 2015 at RMMC

There are abundant metaphors all around us (including transportation gizmology) that our Inner Kindness Teacher can use to help us mindfully keep on course in our forgiveness classroom. This workshop will explore some of these. 🙂

Ideas In Egos Thought System Are More Clueless Than They Appear

Workshop highlights/topics covered:

  • Our Unconscious Mind’s Classroom as a Windshield/Dashboard/Console View of the dream
  • Helpful reminders to assist in putting feedback in a right-minded perspective
  • Turning the Tables on Ego’s Interpretations – Using Our Inner Kindness Teacher’s Translations
  • Mindfully deciding against self-judgment (which includes judging ‘others’); HS: Kindly GPS
  • Utilizing All Indicators/Feedback/Symbols/Metaphors as Thought System/Course Correction help
  • The Windshield (Outer Shield of Oblivion) of physical form/propaganda
  • Ego’s Default Dashboard (Inner Shield of Oblivion) of victimhood/guilt/blame/sin/fear
  • Looking with Inclusion/Shared Interests to Bypass Ego’s Polarizing Feedback filtering/distortion
  • Choosing against the insanity of conflicting destinations; remembering the home we never left
  • Revealing the Master Switch; Overcoming our Resistance to Unchanging Love/Perfect Peace

Workshop Description: In addition to the topics noted above, the workshop will provide related quotes from ACIM, along with amusing audio-visual memory aids to remind us to not take our journey through the dream quite so seriously, a.k.a. smiling gently at ego’s mis-interpretation more and more frequently.

After-class printed workshop handouts will allow for introspective journaling of one’s personal (special) mental experiences/situations/values/investments to ‘peel off the tape’ covering ego’s dashboard ‘idiot lights’, helping us see that the alarming indicators we were previously afraid to look at disappear in the light of gentle examination with our Inner Kindness Teacher a.k.a Holy Spirit.

Facilitator:
 Bruce Rawles
Date: Sunday, August 9, 2015

There is no cruelty in God and none in me: a Conversation about Workbook Lesson 170

In this audio programCA Brooks and Bruce Rawles converse about Workbook Lesson 170: There is no cruelty in God and none in me. This is another segment of CA’s weekly ACIM internet radio program on 12Radio. While not a popular topic, it is one of many challenging-but-so-rewarding aspects of looking at ego’s craziness – without condemnation – so that we can ultimately restore our mind to the love that awaits us beyond ego’s murderous thought system. In fact, when we do NOT take it’s interpretation … of anything and everything … seriously, that’s when we can afford to see the real humor (which we give examples of from ACIM) in the author’s infinitely kind-hearted lampooning of the ‘tiny mad idea’ we’ve apparently all invested in! 🙂

February 2014 ACIMblog bulletin

ACIMblog bulletin for February 2014:

KenWapnick - arm embrace

Kenneth Wapnick article by Bernard Groom

Thanks to Susan Dugan – BTW, here’s a recent interview Susan did with C. A. Brooks and more of her audios – for alerting me in a recent blog post to this excellent article by Bernard Groom about Ken Wapnick’s life and keeping the teaching that he demonstrated in our awareness. Here’s a short excerpt: “Reality, Heaven, Home is real. Nothing else is. That is where we are, all of us, all the time, in a state we cannot comprehend within the limited, intellectual mind. We cannot ‘think’ through this one. This state ‘here’ that appears outside that perfect place is not true, and not real. Yet we have adopted this extraordinary capacity to make real (seemingly real) what is not real. The power of our minds is such that we can insist on the truth of this separated state, a place of beginnings and endings, to such an extent that we experience it as ‘real’. We have to call this into question.”

Kenneth Wapnick interview with Amy Torres

Here’s a “new” interview with Ken Wapnick by Amy Torres (from October 2000), which shows the consistency and constancy of his message, and addresses issues such as purification, the happy dream and Jung’s two stages of life.

Doug Sparks is presenting two classes tomorrow at RMMC (2Mar2014): “Make this year different…” at the 11AM gathering, followed by a Workshop from 1- 4 pm entitled: “We have met the enemy and he is us.” – Pogo

Lyn Corona (of the School of Reason) is starting new classes at RMMC: Essential Metaphysics (Three Sat. afternoon classes March 29; April 5, 12, from 2 to 4 pm, with a free intro session March 22, 2 to 3:30 pm) and Living The Course, part II (Eight 2-hour classes Thursdays- March 20, 27; April 3, 10, 17, 24, May 1, 8 from 7 to 9 pm); … all highly recommended!

The End of Death

My projections are my inner workshop for forgiveness

Here’s a short video by Corrine Zupko about trusting our Inner Kindness Teacher and seeing our projections as our internal work, not something outside ourselves.

Lasting Happiness

Here’s a short article by fellow ACIM student and hiker Jim Meissner. Here’s a short excerpt: “To have lasting joy and inner peace you must choose them as your goal and priority. So whatever the situation, you decide in advance to have peace as your goal. Since you have set your goal, you will find the means to achieve it. Just don’t make other goals more important to you or you will have divided and conflicting goals. Without setting your ultimate goal in advance, life will just seem to happen to you and you will seem to be a helpless victim of outside circumstances. That need not be.”

June 2013 ACIMblog bulletin

ACIMblog bulletin for June 2013:

High Above The Thorny Roads of Fear – Ken Wapnick article in the latest Lighthouse

Kenneth Wapnick consistently shares superb, concentrated insights at the heart of ACIM’s pure non-dual metaphysics, always with kindness, humor and insight. This most recent edition of the Foundation for A Course In Miracles (FACIM)‘s quarterly newsletter publication, The Lighthouse, with an article entitled “High Above The Thorny Roads of Fear” is no exception. Here’s a short excerpt from the excellent article (highly recommended):

“The miracle does not ask us to choose between the two—body or mind identification—but only to recognize that this is our choice: the well-traveled road of bodies that are doomed to suffer pain and loss, and then die (T-31.VI.2:3), or the less-traveled, mind-centered road Jesus leads us on that will carry us home on peaceful wings of love. We cannot take both paths.”

Forgiveness Offers Everything I Want: New ACIM studies book

FOEIW-cover-403wEOFbg

Forgiveness Offers Everything I Want is the title of a video conversation with Susan Dugan and Bruce Rawles … and also the title of Susan’s outstanding new book (Forgiveness Offers Everything I Want; which is available in both paperback and Kindle versions). The book (which continues in the same humorous and lucid writing style as her prior – equally engaging – book, Extraordinary Ordinary Forgiveness) uses examples from her personal mindful forgiveness training as the springboard to look at how we can be happily wrong about our narrow, victim-centric and grievance-based interpretations and judgments and learn to generalize these life lessons we all share.

The Essential Metaphysics of A Course in Miracles – Denver, CO class series by Lyn Corona

I will soon upload the remaining three audios of Lyn Corona’s recent class at the Rocky Mountain Miracle Center in Denver entitled “The Essential Metaphysics of A Course in Miracles which concludes June 30, 2013. Here’s the audio recording from the first session, along with several other related audio recordings of Lyn. Lyn talked about an early mystical experience which led to a lifetime of spiritual inquiry, finding ACIM in the mid 1970’s and much more. These include several newer audio recordings by Lyn Corona from ACIM Gather on Paltalk Express. To listen and/or participate live on these audio sessions, visit the ACIMblog Resources page for more details. Lyn has a weekly program on ACIM Gather Tuesdays from 7-8PM Eastern Time. Here’s the programming schedule. Lyn’s websites – both recommended! – are  Becoming Learners Together and School of Reason. Here’s another recent video interview/conversation with Lyn Corona (via Google+ Hangouts).

Grateful for another year of your Support – ‘one year anniversary’ of The Geometry Code book

A year ago (on June 5, 2013), I launched the paperback version of The Geometry Code: Universal Symbolic Mirrors of Natural Laws Within Us; Friendly Reminders of Inclusion to Forgive the Dreamer of Separation. The Kindle version of the paperback book followed a few months later last fall. While certainly not exclusively an “ACIM studies” book, ACIM was definitely a primary inspiration, and the addition of the backdrop of the seven ancient Hermetic Laws, a smattering of mystical geometry and even some dabbling in modern physics and it’s inexorable transformation in our mind to metaphysics. Thanks to one and all for your generous and continued support of the two versions from multiple countries, and to Gary Renard for the Foreward, and countless others for inspiration! I’ve had a number of kind reviews and endorsements. If you’d like to add yours, please send my way, and/or post on the Amazon review page here. You can find a free first chapter of the book (entitled “The Question of Identity: Two Thought Systems”) here.

All or nothing? (A neat photo found on FaceBook recently)

galactic perspective image from FaceBook

The who we think we are – nuthin’ – doesn’t even register on the zoomed in photo; we’re radar blip wannabes … yet WHAT we really are – Everything – dwarfs this surreal cosmos. 🙂

Another example of superb blog posts about ACIM by Susan Dugan

This one (Seeing Purple) really hit home; when I notice my investment in a ‘special identity’ as a concealed weapon against wholeness, it helps to bring down the walls in my mind; recognizing that both offense and defense are still just fences in the dreamscape battlefield, I catch myself more and more before reinvesting the farm in divisiveness… I had a glimpse of the folly of ‘we/they’ thinking in high school when – in rebellion to what I perceived as a mad world – I took a contrarian ‘inner hippy’ attitude and quickly discovered that I was conforming to non-conformity! Oops! 🙂 Perhaps my favorite example of how we can practice undoing the original authority problem (the belief in separate interests) is the story of Bill Thetford who, upon hearing fellow students of our favorite blue book arguing about the meaning of a specific passage, ripped out the offending page, crumpled it up and suggested that it’s form and specifics weren’t as important as the meaning behind the words, infinitely beyond any surreal fantasy of differences. Thanks, Susan Dugan! 🙂

Why I Don’t Like My Spiritual Discipline – an article by D. Patrick Miller

Here’s a fun and astute article about my chosen forgiveness mentoring system (and I imagine it’s likely to be yours, too if you’re reading this) … As Ken Wapnick points out, if most students realized what ACIM ultimately leads to, they’d never pick it up. If we don’t notice the resistance to dropping our attachment to a grief-sustaining surreal self we’ve invested in on a cosmic scale – and thrown away the key to the projection room that sustains it – we’re probably either heavily sedated or in major ‘bliss-ninny’ denial. The ‘inconvenient truth’ aspect of this introspective teaching is simultaneously our greatest challenge (when we attempt to use ego to undo itself) or our greatest opportunity (when we let go of our inner book-pitching tendencies and see the humor in our pathetic attempts at happiness.) Thanks to D. Patrick Miller of Fearless Books also for publishing the book (Disappearance of the Universe) that catalyzed a headlong plunge back into ACIM’s non-dual metaphysics for me in 2007 after too long a hiatus. 🙂

ACIMblog bulletin for March 2013:

A conversation with Lyn Corona and Susan Dugan about our shared interest in, and application of, the teachings of Kenneth Wapnick
thusiasts of Kenneth Wapnick and FACIM

I recently recorded a video conversation with Susan Dugan and Lyn Corona about our shared interest in, and enthusiasm for the work of Dr. Kenneth Wapnick and the Foundation for A Course In Miracles (FACIM). We shared several examples of the teachings that we’ve found helpful over the years of studying this prolific and insightful treasure trove of work and the purity of the translations. Susan’s Forays In Forgiveness blog has a generous – and growing – archive of interviews (with Kenneth Wapnick and Gary Renard), audio and excellent weekly posts, each sharing her easy-to-relate-to – and often amusing – personal forgiveness lessons with corresponding generalized insights from the Inner Teacher of Kindness we all share. Lyn Corona, also deeply inspired by Kenneth Wapnick’s insight’s about ACIM, established the School of Reason, and also shares eloquent insights on her personal blog, Becoming Learners Together. All highly recommended – and it was great fun renovating these websites with such excellent content! (If you would like an assistance with an ACIM (or related) website, please contact me, since I very much enjoy making, updating and maintaining sites like these. 🙂

Recent reviews of The Geometry Code

Thanks to Susan Dugan, Mike Lemieux, and Marianne O’Sheeran for their recent, complimentary reviews of The Geometry Code: Universal Symbolic Mirrors of Natural Laws Within Us; Friendly Reminders of Inclusion to Forgive the Dreamer of Separation. Another fellow author, Jonathan Joshua, wrote the first review – Thanks, Jonathan! – in 2012. Huge thanks also to Gary Renard, Cindy-Lora Renard and Roberta Grace for adding The Geometry Code book (with a Foreward by Gary) to the “Gary recommends” book list on Gary’s website.

The Kindle version of the book became available September 2012. Many thanks to all who encouraged me to complete it, have purchased it and all your support … so very appreciated! 🙂 BTW, if you prefer a ‘treeware’ (paperback) version, you can order it here. Here are abundant details about the book – which really IS an ACIM-studies book, despite the prominent appearance of the word ‘geometry’ in the title.

BTW, even if you don’t have a Kindle, there are lots of other platforms you can read the Kindle version (or any Kindle book) on, including smartphones such as iPhone and iTouch, Android, Windows Phone 7, Blackberry, Windows and Macintosh computers, and tablets like iPad and Android tablet. Enjoy! 🙂
